A photographic project that aims to document the different aspects of a mountain wilderness cannot neglect to portray its biodiversity in close detail. With 142 endemic plant species and almost one third of all the species of the Italian flora, one can easily understand why Majella is considered a “Mecca” for botanists and why it is so important for this project to get an extensive coverage of these subjects.
Imagine the massif of Majella as a big, rocky island. A place isolated from the whole rest of Italy and the European continent by the waters of the Ocean. And now, can you imagine being stranded on it?
