Wilderness: the infinite

Wilderness: the infinite

In November two wolves and a red fox have been found dead in the southern part of the Majella National Park – presumably poisoned –, but nobody can say it with certainty.

I am here talking of wilderness... biodiversity... personal experience... whilst such murders still take place. And be aware that we get to know only one side of the story, since just a small percentage of such “casualties” make it to the mass media.

I have nothing to say, so I will liberally borrow words from the great Robert Hainard, who is still basically unknown (what a shame!) outside France and Switzerland:

“I have the infinite at my reach. I can see it, I can sense it, I can touch it, I feed myself on it and I know I could never exhaust it. And so I accept my irrepressible rebellion when I see the Nature being destroyed: somebody is killing my infinite.”

Well Robert Hainard is now known to me, (here in England) so thank you for that great quotation.
